The collection covers most periods of Geddes’s life, and nearly all of the places in which he lived and worked. It comprises correspondence, notes, pamphlets and books, photographs, maps, plans, prints and drawings, including Geddes' famous 'thinking machines'.

Refers to his employment of Mr James Slater as an independent and impartial expert to value the property. Includes a note to advise that Geddes will incur additional costs due the architects instruction to have an engineer sink special foundations and abandoning plans to erect studios upon a portion of the ground. Includes mention of Messrs Condie & Co., and the Royal Scottish Academy.
