George Douglas presents his compliments to the Masque Committee and regrets he cannot attend the meeting on 29 January regarding the Masque of Learning.

Informs the secretary that Lavy Salvesen is abroad for a few months. Edm. F. Salvesen has many duties which prevent him from acting as a member of the Committee for the Masque of Learning.

Wishes Patrick Geddes success with the ‘Masque of Learning’. Regrets both himself and his wife cannot attend due to health reasons, but would like to send his son instead. As one of the first residents of the University Hall, William S. Bruce shows appreciation for Geddes’ efforts to further develop the Hall and its ties to the University with the help of the Masque. Hopes Geddes will be more honoured in the future as ‘the successful founder of University Social Residence in Scotland’.
