Donation slips from a SPAID fundraising appeal begun soon after the broadcast of Yorkshire Television documentary ‘Alice: a fight for life’ (aired 20 July 1982). Visually the form used for the appeal focused more on asbestos in the home than on the asbestos industry.

Correspondence and papers re application for a Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Critical Assistance Fund award, to cover the shortfall arising from termination of funding through the London Borough Grants Scheme. Instead of the funds to cover the shortfall, OEDA received a grant for a two day diagnostic to review the organisation's needs. Includes a copy of the diagnostic report.

Correspondence and papers re continuation of grant through the London Boroughs Grant Scheme, recommendation that the grant be discontinued, OEDA's rejoinder, deferral of the decision, intense OEDA campaigning for reconsideration. The grant was not renewed or replaced.

The aggregation originally included some unique originals and multiple copies of OEDA's appeal against the decision to not renew the LBG grant, 1995. The originals were transferred to aggregation OEDA/J/2/1/5, while the duplicates have been disposed of in line with our appraisal policy.

Contains letters in support of SPAID / OEDA, correspondence and papers re SPAID / OEDA campaign March 1995 to get support from MPs to solve the organisation's funding crisis and to renew their efforts to highlight asbestos problems through Parliamentary Questions. Nancy Tait also considered using BBC South's programme ‘First sight: a handful of dust' (16 March 1995) in support of her appeal against LBG's decision to terminate the grant.

Includes photocopies of press coverage on women 'who fight the dust that kills', 1976.
