A successor to previous student publications, the Ross Hall Times and the Spatule, the Scottish Hotel School Students' Journal was established in 1961 and renamed the Strathclyde Hotelier in 1965. It was produced by the students as a year book of the Scottish Hotel School, but was also used by them as a means of contacting former students and of helping to get themselves recognised within the hotel and tourism industry.
