Congratulates Patrick Geddes on the historical accuracy and dramatic effects of the Masque of Learning as a whole. Objects to the portrayal of Hypathia which he believes is historically inaccurate.
Sends Patrick Geddes one of his works. Informs Geddes the lectern he has ordered was sent. Will try to send the photo that Geddes needs.
Sin títuloDiscusses costs of decoration hire, insurance, seating of the hall, stage design costs, list of characters for the Masque and numbering of the episodes. Mentions Mr. Darer.
Sin títuloRequests a copy of ‘The Masque of ancient learning and its many meanings, a pageant of education from primitive to Celtic Times’ under the provisions of the Copyright Act 1911 for the National Library of Wales.
Patrick Geddes asks why the Mercat Press books did not arrive on time and advises that unless they are delivered that day to the London University Imperial Institute they will be useless.
Sin títuloAcknowledges receipt of the Secretary’s letter of the 5th of March and enclosed circular. Asks for the return of the postal order for 6 shilling tickets.
Tells Patrick Geddes she will do her best to bring as many youths as she can. Encourages Geddes and suggests where he could borrow costumes and tools for the Masque.
Encourages Patrick Geddes to have other performances of the Masque for teachers, as the knowledge of it is just spreading. Doubts whether Geddes could fill the Albert Hall six times in April with teachers and schoolchildren, as they would only prefer the matinees, transport could be an issue for some and the upcoming school break might prevent many from attending. Could arrange for the girls of Moorfields College to go, if she has definite news by Wednesday, the last day of school.
Informs Patrick Geddes that the dates for the ‘Masque of Learning’ performances fall within the College vacation, therefore it will not be possible for students and staff to attend.
Regrets to inform Patrick Geddes that none of the students or staff at the College will be able to attend the Masque of Learning as performances take place during the school vacation.
Informs Patrick Geddes the College will be on vacation, thus students and staff will not be able to attend the proposed performances of the Masque of Learning.
Thanks Patrick Geddes for informing them about the dates for the Masque of Learning. Regrets pupils or staff of the College will not be able to attend as they are on vacation on those dates.
Informs Anna Geddes he will put a notice about the ‘Masque of Learning’ in the L.C.C. Gazette in the hope of attracting many teachers. Regrets being unable to take the part of Froebel in the Masque due to his busy schedule. Will do his best to promote the Masque to schools. Once Patrick Geddes returns to London, he would like to discuss the Masque with him.
