Copy from an original etching by Joseph Swan in the possession of Alexander McGrigor, Esq. of Kernock, 1825. Based on engraving by William Kay (ref: OP/4/1/3). Anderson is seated, with a border of military apparatus.
Alexander McGrigor was probably the Writer in Glasgow nominated as Professor of Scottish Antiquities in John Anderson’s will.
