History
The Royal Technical College Athletic Club was formed in 1921, as part of the Royal Technical College Students' Representative Council. In 1929, it became a separate body with a separate constitution, but still submitted its budgets to the Students' Representative Council. In 1990, the Club was renamed the University of Strathclyde Sports Union.
The Club set up facilities for many sports including rugby, hockey, football, golf, cricket, boxing, fencing, badminton, table tennis, sailing, basketball and swimming.
