Administrative history

The Training School Consultative Committee began life as the 'Principal's Panel': an advisory panel to the 'Training and Registration Board' (Academic Board) that explored and reported upon the following professional concerns: entrance qualifications; training of Speech Therapists; and clinical training . It was formed at the first meeting of the Training and Registration Board on 21 Jul 1964 but it's name was changed to the 'Training Schools Consultative Committee' in Nov 1964.
The Training Schools Consultative Committee formed a 'Training Schools Advisory Committee' to represent them on the Training and Registration Board.
The Committee's named changed to the 'Committee of Representatives of Education in Speech Therapy' (CREST) at the end of 1981.
