History
The Society was initially known as the Glasgow Technical College Civil Engineering Society and held its first meeting on 6 February 1908. Its aims were to promote the acquisition of knowledge pertaining to the profession of civil engineering; to hold meetings for the reading and discussing of papers on engineering subjects; to make visits to engineering works of interest; to promote social intercourse amongst the students, and to keep past students in touch with the College.
