Item 11 - Overseas Therapists Licensing Subcommittee minutes

The Overseas Therapists Licencing Subcommittee was formed under the name: 'Overseas Qualifying Examination Committee' in 1986 with its first meeting on 23 Sep of that year.
The duties of the committee were:
(a) To determine that the purpose of the Overseas Qualifying Examination remains relevant and to make such changes and improvements as are from time to time required.
(b) To institute such regulations for the Overseas Qualifying Examination as may be necessary and to provide the necessary Guidelines for Candidates.
(c) To organise Overseas Qualifying Examinations (in UK and abroad) through the College of Speech Therapists to include the setting of papers, practical examinations and vivas.
(d) To appoint examiners.
(e) To set appropriate fees.
(f) To take into account EEC legislation affecting the accreditation of those wishing to practise as Speech Therapists in the UK."
The name was changed to 'Overseas Therapists Licencing Committee' in Sep 1991.
