McCunn, Archibald Eddington, b. 1927, engineer20 volumes of lecture notes made by Alexander Porkess whilst a student at the Royal Technical College, Glasgow. The notebooks cover various subjects including mathematics, heat engines and natural philosophy. Many of the notebooks contain photographs, graphs and diagrams. There is also a copy of the thesis presented by Porkess for the Associateship of the Royal Technical College, August 1952. Also a bundle of notes, mainly examination questions and algebra, c. 1950s.

Also expresses sympathy for the wartime bombing suffered by Clydebank: 'We heard of the 'Blitz' over Glasgow and regret to learn of so many deaths, etc. However, [we] are sure your people have the right spirit and will pay back many times over. Many of our towns have had similar rough times but are all quite cheery and waiting 'DER TAG' which will give us our revenge.'
