Scarf made of pure wool fabric with vertical stripes of royal blue, white, yellow and green. Attached to the lower front section is a fabric badge embroidered with the crest of the Scottish College of Commerce (SCC). The Scottish Hotel School was established at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Commercial College, subsequently known as the SCC, in 1944. Following the SCC's merger with the Royal Technical College to form the University of Strathclyde in 1964, the Scottish Hotel School became a department of the University. However, the SCC crest remained on the School's scarves and on certain other items, such as the crockery in its training restaurant, until some time in the 1970s.
A manufacturer's label on the reverse of the scarf reads 'Paisleys Ltd'. A name tape reading 'ALISTAIR GOLDSMITH' is also attached.
