To the above map was added the southern part of Portugal and Spain from a different map with roughly the same scale:

Starck-man sculps[ ]'; 'A Paris du Palais chez le Sr. de Fer a la Sphere Royale avec Privilege du Roy. 1705.'; P [ ] Starck-man after Nicolaus de Fer; scale unspecified; 1705; black and white; engraving, 45.5 x 26.7 cm; probably from Nicolas de Fer, 'Atlas Curieux', 1705, vol. 2, map 73, which was a copy of N. de Fer, 'Suite de /'Atlas Curieux', 1704, vol. 5, map 146, 'Le Royaumes de Portugal et d'Algarve', engraved by P. Stark-man (Pastoreau, Fer ID, p. 183; Fer I, p. 176)

To the above maps were added in the right and left margins city views and plans. Opposing items in the margins formed originally one sheet, which was cut in two halves, then mounted beside the maps.

  • Left margin top: 'Olivenca [ ... ]'; 'A Paris chez le Sr. de Fer dans l'lsle du Palais sur le [ ]'. Right margin top: 'Setuval ou Setubal'; '[ ] Quay de l'Orloge a la Sphere Royale avec privil. du Roy.'; 'A. Coquart sculp.'

  • Left margin centre: 'Etremos' and 'St. lulien ou St. Giao'; 'A. Coquart sculp.'; 'A Paris chez le Sr. de Fer dans l'lsle du Palais sur le [ ]'. Right margin centre: 'Villa Viçiosa' and 'Aronches'; '[ ] Quay de l'Orloge a la Sphere Royale avec privil. du Roy.'

  • Left margin bottom: 'Elvas'; 'A Paris du Palais chez le Sr. de Fer a la Sphere Royale avec Privilege du Roy.'. Right margin bottom:
    'Evora'; 'A. Coquart sculp.'

The above city views and maps probably from Nicolas de Fer, L'Atlas Curieux, vol. 6, 1705, map 179: Olivença / Setuvial, map:.177: Estiemos I Villa Viçiosa / St. Lulien ou St. Giao / Aronches, and map 178: Elvas / Evora (Pastoreau, Fer I, p. 177).

Along the top margin of the above maps two further engravings were added:

  • Top margin left: 'Palais Royale de Lisbonne.' and 'Le Chateau de Belem.'

  • Top margin right: 'Lisbonne'
