Suggests Miss Ritchie should start preparations for the British Association’s visit to Edinburgh in September 1921. Attaches a newspaper cutting [extant] relating to preparations for the British Association’s visit.

Discusses Miss Ritchie’s intention of starting Photography-related activities at the Outlook Tower. Advises he has written to a friend, Mr. A. Wallace McGregor, who is interested in her idea and hopes the two can discuss it further.

Discusses his resignation as Director of the Town and Gown Association. Hopes Patrick Geddes will recover from his illness while staying in the South of France.

Informs Geddes a General Meeting of the Library Committees will convene to discuss all his suggestions.

Will place Patrick Geddes' suggestion of creating libraries for University Halls before the Ramsay Lodge Committee.

Expresses his intention of sending an Armenian student to Edinburgh for a university course and would like assistance in finding him affordable accommodation. Mentions John Lewis Paton.

Apologises for not sending the invitation for the meeting on the 27th of January and encloses a copy of the circular regarding the meeting. Asks whether Lord Balcarres could attend another meeting in the following weeks.
