This is one of a set of five panels (OF/26/24/2-6) used as teaching aids for a course entitled 'A Plan for Advertising for the Hotelkeeper,' delivered at the Scottish Hotel School in February 1962 (a newspaper clipping containing a photograph taken at the course also appears in item OF/26/21/1). The letter 'B' appears on the bottom right corner of the panel.

A successor to previous student publications, the Ross Hall Times and the Spatule, the Scottish Hotel School Students' Journal was established in 1961 and renamed the Strathclyde Hotelier in 1965. It was produced by the students as a year book of the Scottish Hotel School, but was also used by them as a means of contacting former students and of helping to get themselves recognised within the hotel and tourism industry.
