Handbooks published annually and distributed to all undergraduate students at the University of Strathclyde before or during registration. Each School of Study or Faculty produced its own handbook. There were also separate handbooks for certain degrees.

The handbooks contain relevant degree regulations and syllabuses, timetables, notes on library facilities and various items of departmental information.

John Stenlake papers

Most of the collection comprises research notes and papers and article reprints arising from Professor Stenlake’s research into the design and synthesis of the drug atracurium besylate, the first short acting and readily reversible skeletal muscle relaxant for use in surgery. There are also papers relating to Stenlake’s teaching, lectures and administrative responsibilities as well as to his education and awards. There are also photographs of Stenlake and other University of Strathclyde staff.

Research for and drafts of two published works by Ludovic Kennedy - 'Ten Rillington Place' (published 1961) and 'The Trial of Stephen Ward' (published 1964) - and two unpublished works - 'Lieutenant' and 'Saying Goodbye to Big Daddy’.

The collection also includes correspondence between Kennedy and his typist and copy-editor, Eileen O'Neill, 1966-c.2009; two photographs of Kennedy and his family, c. 1960s; an auction catalogue for the sale of Piers Place, Old Amersham (Kennedy's home), 1965; newspaper cuttings about Kennedy, 2004-2009; Kennedy's cigarette case, c.1960s.

Reflective analyses and case studies for the University of Strathclyde's enhancement led institutional review (ELIR). The review was conducted by the Quality Assurance Agency for Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Funding Council, and was undertaken by each higher education institution in Scotland every five years. The University of Strathclyde's first review was held in 2005. The second was completed in 2010.

The review focused on the continual improvement of the student learning experience and how the University monitored, reviewed and shared best practice in learning and teaching. It considered the learning experiences of all students studying for a University of Strathclyde qualification.
