    Informs Patrick Geddes that John G. Cumming would like to speak to him before granting permission to visit the Bengali rioters in jail. Gives Geddes Mr. Cumming’s address so he could call on him. Encloses a copy of his letter to Mr. Cumming [extant].

Also includes Patrick Geddes’ handwritten notes on the following correspondence on the topic, ending with a reply from 19 October in which permission to speak to the men is denied.
