Discusses his views on sociology, with reference to Geddes' lectures and those of Dr. Edvard Alexander Westermarck, Martin White, Mr. Bryce, Mr. Bury. Reference to the book Geddes and J. Arthur Thomson are writing. Mention of August Weismann and Professor Maas. The letter ends with a diagram, akin to Geddes's thought machines, showing his view of where Sociology (or Politology) stands in his 'Classification of the Sciences'.

Sends a copy of his Education Scheme; samples of his German and English poetry; the prologue-act from his drama, 'Der Arme Heinrich'; programmes of concerts he has previously arranged 'for democratic ends'. [Not extant]. Mention of Humperdinck. Admits that although he is a 'strong visionary' he is 'almost devoid of talent' but that he will try to bring Mr. E. Blake to Edinburgh who has 'a troubadour's gift for improvising dramatic music to recitations'. Mentions his meeting with Majory Kennedy Fraser, and his high regard for her and her sister Mrs. Jessie Matthay. Mentions Victor Branford, Anna Geddes and John Ross.

James Bryce, Andrew Carnegie, Joseph Chamberlain, Justin McCarthy M.P., William T. Stead, Rev. J.J. Hornby.
