Refers to the poor financial situation of the Eastern and Colonial Association Ltd. Outlines the debts owed by the company and to Victor Branford and to John Ross. Requests payment from Geddes for moneys owed and asks for ideas as to how to raise further capital. Ross advises he does not have the capacity to do so himself.

Acknowledges receiving Patrick Geddes’ letter dated the 13th of July. Tells Geddes the Executive Committee have considered the letter in their meeting but could not come to a decision on the matter. Geddes’ request will be considered again at a future meeting.
