OEDA created dedicated press coverage files, the largest of them a multi-volume series of press cuttings 1976-2007. This is followed by smaller aggregations.

More press coverage can be found throughout the OEDA papers. In the early years the charity monitored the anglophone press (chiefly British national dailies, but also trades magazines and local papers) for information with potential relevance for its mission, and continued to gather news reports until 2006. Some press cuttings came to OEDA from asbestos activists, personal injury lawyers, and well-wishers. Through its international network, OEDA also received media reports from North America, sporadically also from Australia and South Africa.

Some of these holdings are catalogued in the OEDA collection of printed material (see link below), among them incomplete sets of the following titles:

Correspondence with Paul Cooper of Transport and General Workers’ Union (TGWU) York. Includes an autopsy report and other medical information. Among topics covered are issues with York pathologists and coroners, and concerns over exposure to asbestos of British Rail passengers. Also a little correspondence re foundation of the York Asbestos Support Group in 2006. Papers include testimony by former British Rail coach builders and asbestos sprayers, and photocopies of confidential J W Roberts Ltd communications re fibre levels produced by the 'Limpet' asbestos cement spray process, 1962.

Paul Cooper long campaigned on behalf of former carriageworks employees who suffered from asbestos-related illnesses. He retired as secretary of the TGWU York branch c. 2010.

Correspondence (including telephone memoranda) with business historian Geoffrey Tweedale. One theme of the exchange is arrangements for the OEDA archive. Includes

• photocopies of corporate correspondence from the asbestos industry, including Sumner Simpson, 1934-1957
