Business relating to Paris International Assembly. Marr is travelling to Paris to deal with accommodation and administrative arrangements. Enquires whether [Edward] McGegan has obtained 'journals from Williams & Norgate' with full description of Exhibition. Reference to [Exhibition] Programme which Marr is working on. He requests Geddes' 'emendations' of the draft. Gives views on format of programme, and the need to be 'precise and definite as to what we are to do'. Reference to British Association and to two of its members, Lewis Paton and Mr. Garnod.

Advises signed agreement enclosed [not extant], signed by Marr and amended by [John] Ross. Further details of Marr's attempts to secure conference and accommodation space at Exposition. Marr suggests using a large barge as a Conference Centre, converting it and mooring it on the Seine, includes illustrative diagram. Reference to P.I.A. and the need for an automobile.

Further arrangements for accommodation and conference space for Exposition. Suggestion of space in or near Trocadero. Reference to M. Marr lists necessary tasks to be carried out in London and Paris. Stresses necessity of 'draft prospectus' being finished. In Marr's view, there is a need for Patrick Geddes to be aware of 'a distinct recognition of our own limitations'. Reference to [John] Ross.

Mentions [John] Ross's work at the Passmore Edwards. Marr suggests application of idea with newspaper cuttings and notes on current events being produced for libraries and schools. Possibility of arrangements with Educational Supply Association, Messrs. Nelson, publishers, and the Library Bureau, in order to create reference tool for librarians and libraries. Includes sketch by T.R. Marr of proposed bookcase.

Recounts his passage to and travelling through Norway examining botanical specimens, some comparison with Scottish flora and fauna. He travelled with another botanist, Smith, and some zoologists. Invites Geddes to call when he returns to Dundee in September. States photographs enclosed [not extant].
