Appeal decisions, 2003

Copies of five appeal decisions 2003, won by Nancy Tait "by arguing that cases should be decided on the 'Balance of Probabilities'", with a covering letter to Rodney Nelson-Jones, solicitor.

Also copy of another appeal won in 1994 and copy of an appeal lost, May 2003, and some then current scientific literature on the problematic of fibre counts.

Correspondence with Jill Morrell of CancerBACUP re their publication ‘Understanding mesothelioma’ and its launch. Nancy Tait was an invited speaker. Includes

Correspondence and papers re application for a Department of Health Section 64 grant. The application was for £68,100, spread out over a three year period. The grant was 'for central administrative costs'. Includes a draft of the application.

The application was successful.

S64 of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968 provided power for the Secretary of Health to make grants to voluntary organisations in England whose activities support the Department of Health's policy priorities.

Fundraising appeal 2003-2005

Correspondence (including telephone memoranda) and papers re OEDA fundraising appeal, 2003 (and onwards). Includes exchanges with journalist Julie Burchill and copies of her articles on OEDA loosing its core funding.

Contained a 82pp address list of individuals to whom personal injury lawyer Caroline Pinfold wrote in support of the OEDA funding appeal. This has been disposed of in line with our appraisal policy.
