Correspondence relating to the Scottish Hotel School's appeal to external companies for donations to finance the extension of Ross Hall.
Minutes of meetings of the Selection Committee of the Scottish School of Hotel Management held on 27 November 1947 and 11 December 1947. The Selection Committee, comprising the Director, an Assessor of the Scottish Education Department and representatives of the various hotel interests concerned in the School, was set up to interview applicants for admission and allocate places on the Diploma course to the successful candidates.
Draft syllabuses and correspondence concerning the extension of the Diploma course from two years to three years. Also contains a typed syllabus for the Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Catering Management (1968).

Enclosed with the letter is a typed, 2-page 'Memorandum on the Organisation of the Scottish Hotel School by Mr Dallas', outlining the difficulties that had influenced his decision to resign.

Several of the minutes are signed by the Chairman, Professor Mellanby. Copies of most of them appear in a bound volume of minutes of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Commercial College for January 1948 - August 1949 (OH/2/1/17) - the minutes concerned are marked accordingly with page references to the bound volume.

A successor to previous student publications, the Ross Hall Times and the Spatule, the Scottish Hotel School Students' Journal was established in 1961 and renamed the Strathclyde Hotelier in 1965. It was produced by the students as a year book of the Scottish Hotel School, but was also used by them as a means of contacting former students and of helping to get themselves recognised within the hotel and tourism industry.
Includes a copy of the draft report on an enquiry into discipline at the Hotel School, which discusses the roles and responsibilities of Monsieur and Madame Dutron (see OF/26/1/5).
Includes a 35-page inventory and valuation prepared by J. & R. Edmiston, Auctioneers, Valuators & Arbitrators, Glasgow, in September 1956, and a subsequent inventory prepared in March 1959.
