Draft letter which outlines Patrick Geddes' questions regarding his scheme for an Armenian labour colony in Cyprus. Requests to meet with Bryce in order to discuss the matter. Refers to the Sultan, the Westminster relief fund, widows, children and prisoners and the potential role of the Foreign Office and outlines Geddes' for social reform in Cyprus.

Gives information regarding the statement and dividend of the Town and Gown Association and asks whether the recipient would consider supporting the Association. Mentions Henry Cook. Encloses a proof [not extant] of the prospectus of the Association. (Two copies).

Refers to non-political scheme of action for the purposes of relieving the distress of Amernian refugees, and to renew co-operation between eastern races.

Encloses a copy of Robert Smith’s letter about the maps illustrating the geographical distribution of vegetation across the globe. Mentions encouraging Smith to start a course on Regional Survey for teachers, and would like to plan a similar course for next year’s Summer Meeting. Highlights the importance of these courses being endorsed by an educational body.

Asks Professor Alexander Crum Brown to approve and extend a list of names suggested by Mr. Auldjo Jamieson, Baillie Pollard and himself to receive invitations for the meeting to be held that Friday, 27 January 1899. Asks for Crum Brown’s approval of the invitations.
