Writes in connection with Crosby Hall and a letter from Mrs. Barrington which appeared in the ‘Kensington News’ issue of 25 April and contained a number of inaccuracies. John Ross refers to Patrick Geddes’ reply which made corrections to Mrs. Barrington’s letter and was published in the ‘Times’ on 21 April. Ross also refers to a letter from the Secretary of the Chelsea Association which appeared in the times on 23 April and which disproves Mrs. Barrington’s points.

Ross outlines some provisional plans, as discussed with [Edward] McGegan and suggests topic of Social Finance. Asks if Geddes and Victor Branford might be available for such a symposium. Ross believes that Patrick Geddes 'will have to be very careful about launching the Masque of Learning here' due to difficulties in making things known in the city without vast funding. Mention of J. Martin White and [ ] Brady. Reference to the state of Geddes's finances. Ross also suggests that 'synthetic ideas' of Patrick Geddes's should be expressed in concrete symbols and 'not by Diagrams on plane surfaces'.
