Business relating to Paris International Assembly. Marr is travelling to Paris to deal with accommodation and administrative arrangements. Enquires whether [Edward] McGegan has obtained 'journals from Williams & Norgate' with full description of Exhibition. Reference to [Exhibition] Programme which Marr is working on. He requests Geddes' 'emendations' of the draft. Gives views on format of programme, and the need to be 'precise and definite as to what we are to do'. Reference to British Association and to two of its members, Lewis Paton and Mr. Garnod.

Marr lists necessary tasks to be carried out in London and Paris. Stresses necessity of 'draft prospectus' being finished. Reference to 'The British and American Assembly' being 'a big thing - big enough to frighten us'. In Marr's view, there is a need for Patrick Geddes to be aware of 'a distinct recognition of our own limitations'. Reference to [John] Ross.

Reference to International Syndicate and its arrangements; the growing popularity of the Current Events Clubs and the possibility of promoting the Tower Classification; Patrick Geddes's Scheme of 'an Outlook Tower bookcase'. Mentions [John] Ross's work at the Passmore Edwards. Marr suggests application of idea with newspaper cuttings and notes on current events being produced for libraries and schools. Possibility of arrangements with Educational Supply Association, Messrs. Nelson, publishers, and the Library Bureau, in order to create reference tool for librarians and libraries. Includes sketch by T.R. Marr of proposed bookcase.

Acknowledges receipt of the letter of the 11th of November and 12th July. Discusses the rent arrears for the Outlook Tower, the costs for the development of the Tower paid by himself and the Town and Gown Association. Explains the rent was not paid on time due to all the earning from the Tower being spent on equipment. States he had no further implication in the matter for nine years. Informs the secretaries he cannot pay the sum and was not aware of Patrick Geddes’ initiative of the Summer Meetings taking place in the Tower.

Marr gives details of aims of Company and asks for a published account of Town and Gown Association operations as he feels that this would be invaluable to the work in Leeds. Asks Patrick Geddes to write if he is free, if not to write to J. Arthur Thomson or Victor Branford and ask them to do so.
