The Department of Health and Social Security (DHSS) separated during 1988 to form two departments, one of which was the Department of Social Security (DSS). In 2001, the DSS was largely replaced by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), with the other responsibilities of the department assumed by the Treasury and the Ministry for Defence.

OEDA files on English journalist Christopher John Penrice Booker (b.1937), one of the founders of the magazine 'Private Eye', and a columnist for 'The Sunday Telegraph' since 1990.

Standard replies (also covering letters) including notes and information packs sent in response to occupational and environmental health enquiries. All the texts in questions mutated over the years. Several of the notes evolved into publications by the organisation; see link below.

SPAID / OEDA's core funding from 1983 to December 2002 came through the administration of Greater London. Initially this was a grant from the Greater London Council (GLC), and from 1986 a grant through the London Boroughs' Grant Scheme, which was set up under Section 48 of the Local Government Act 1985 to continue support for voluntary and community sector organisations operating in more than one borough. From 2000 to 2002, when a new legislative body known as the Greater London Authority (GLA) was established, OEDA received GLA funding. OEDA's subsequent applications to GLA were unsuccessful.

Both the funding applications themselves and the organisation's interactions with the grant scheme administration offer rich insight into SPAID / OEDA's activities and how the organisation evolved over time.

In reverse chronological order, roughly.

Set of industry brochures on construction materials, flooring, roofing, insulation, weather coating and paints, protective clothing, etc., with occasional correspondence. The majority of the material was assembled 1980-1984, both as a resource for creating SPAID's information displays and as a resource for answering inquiries about specific asbestos-containing products and asbestos-free substitutes. The displays were used as part of the SPAID stand at conferences and similar occasions.

Original housing of some of the material suggests that SPAID placement student Eleni Michael gathered a significant portion of the brochures.
