Biographical history

George Gibson was professor of mathematics at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College, 1895-1909, then professor of mathematics at the University of Glasgow, 1909-1927.

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer

Transferred from the Mathematics Department of the Royal College of Science and Technology, Glasgow. Most of the material belonged to Professor Gibson.
