Biographical history
Elizabeth Stewart Mitchell (nee Swan) was born in 1946 and educated at King's Park Secondary School in Glasgow. She trained at Jordanhill College of Education from 1964-1967, completing the Primary Diploma (also known as Chapter III) course. After qualifying, she taught in primary schools from 1967-1980 before taking a break of 15 years to raise her family. Mrs Mitchell returned to the profession in 1995, initially as a supply teacher, and retired from teaching in 2012.
Archival history
These items had been in Mrs Mitchell's possession since her student days at Jordanhill College of Education. She donated them to the Archives in 2016.
