The Academic Services Committee was established by the Senate in 1980 to consider policy for a range of academic services including the Library. It was dissolved in September 1987.
The remit of the Bursaries Committee was to consider and make recommendations to the Senate on matters of policy relating to studentships, scholarships, grants, bursaries, prizes or any other awards made to students. It also acted on behalf of the Senate in the establishment, review and award of these awards.
The remit of the Matriculation Committee was to consider and make recommendations to the Senate on amendments to the general entrance requirement of the University and to take decisions on individual cases for matriculation.
The Senate-Student Committee considered matters of mutual concern to the Students' Association and the Senate and advised the Senate on policy and regulations for student services.
The Research Sub-Committee was established in 1973 to consider and make recommendations to the Senate and Court through the Academic Planning Committee on the promotion of research within the University. In 1981, the responsibility for the Sub-Committee was taken over by the Joint Policy Committee.
The Library Committee was established in 1965. It reported to the Senate. In 1980, it was disbanded and replaced by the Academic Services Committee.
The remit of the Computer Services Committee was to consider and make recommendations to the Senate on matters of academic policy relating to the development, provision and use of computer, data-processing and similar services.
The Chemistry and Matallurgy Committee was established in 1903 to superintend the work of the chemistry and metallurgy departments of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
The Engineering Committee was established in 1903 to superintend the work of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College in engineering and naval architecture.
The Mathematics, Natural Philosophy and Natural Science Committee was established in 1904 to superintend the departments of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College most directly concerned with mathematics, natural philosophy and natural science. It also administered the Euing Lectureship in the Theory of Music; preliminary and first science examinations; and general bursaries and scholarships.
The Mining Committee was established in 1947 to manage the work of the Royal Technical College's Department of Mining. Until 1947, the Department had been managed by the Engineering Committee.
The Dundee and District Association for the Promotion of Technical and Commercial Education was a branch of the National Association for the Promotion of Technical and Commercial Education.
The Navigation School Committee was formed in 1910 to manage the work of the newly established Navigation School at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
