In July 1901, the Special Committee on Architect, which had been established the previous year to consider and report on the appointment of an architect for the new buildings for the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College, was reconstituted as the Building Committee and charged with carrying out the building scheme.

The Special Committee on New Buildings was established to consider the means for providing a new building for the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College, with sufficient accommodation for the present and future requirements of science teaching in the community.
The Turing Institute was established in 1983 as a not-for-profit company and named in honour of the late Alan M. Turing, the mathematician and logician. It was dedicated to providing an environment for research, teaching and development in the field of applied artificial intelligence accessible to both industrial clients and academic researchers. The Institute's research staff worked closely with different departments of the University of Strathclyde.
The Institute closed in the early 1990s.
The Library Committee was established in 1965. It reported to the Senate. In 1980, it was disbanded and replaced by the Academic Services Committee.
The University Management Secretariat was a subset of the University Management Group and was set up to expedite the business of the Group. Its work included making recommendations on papers bound for the Group and preparing reports.
The Hub Committee was established in 2002 by the University Management Group and the Senate, as a result of the recommendations of the Information and Communications Technology Review Group. It replaced the Information Strategy Advisory Group. Its remit was to advise Senate and the University Management Group on all aspects of information and communications technology policy.
The Information Strategy Advisory Group was disbanded in 2002 and replaced by the Hub Committee.
In February 1983, following a restructuring of the Academic Services Committee, an Academic Services Committee Library Group was established. Several name changes followed: in 1984, it became the Library Advisory Group; in 1991, the Library Advisory Committee; and in 1994, the Library Committee.
The Academic Services Committee was established by the Senate in 1980 to consider policy for a range of academic services including the Library. It was dissolved in September 1987.
The Alumni Affairs and Development Office was created in 1994, replacing the Alumni Relations Office. In 2006, it changed its name to the Alumni and Development Office.
Until 2004, the Office came under the remit of the External Affairs and Development Office. After 2004, it came under the remit of the Office of Marketing and Communications.
