Historique
Adam Thomson obtained an associateship in chemical engineering at the Royal Technical College, Glasgow in 1930. In 1935 he was appointed lecturer in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at the College. This was followed by appointments as senior lecturer in 1945 and professor in 1947. In 1968 he was appointed deputy principal of the University of Strathclyde. He retired in 1973.
