Institutionele geschiedenis
Robertson Research Group was the name of a group of inter-connected companies involved throughout the world in natural resource and environmental consultancy including the exploration for and development of oil, gas, minerals, water and agriculture.
The Group had its origins in the Robertson Research Company Ltd, formed in 1961 to provide mineral assessment services for the quarrying interests of William Robertson Shipowners in North Wales. The business expanded rapidly, with new offices being opened in many parts of the world, both in the UK and overseas. In 1970, Robertson Research International Ltd was formed to look after the business’ international interests and in 1975, Robertson Research Holdings Ltd was formed to act as the major equity holder and controlling organisation of the Group. Both these companies operated through a number of subsidiaries.
In 1984, Robertson Research Holdings Ltd was renamed Robertson Research plc. In 1987, it was renamed again, as Robertson Group Ltd.
In 1991, the Group was taken over by Simon Engineering plc.
