The Bursar, under the direction of the Principal, was responsible to the Court for the finances of the University and for all University buildings and properties.
In 1990, the office of Bursar was replaced by the office of Director of Finance.

Robert Nuttall was a lecturer in inorganic chemistry, c. 1966-1979, and senior lecturer, 1979-1998, at the University of Strathclyde.
Donald Pack was Professor of Mathematics, 1953-1982, and Vice-Principal, 1968-1972, at the University of Strathclyde.
The Arts Festival Sub-Committee organised the Strathclyde University Arts Festival.
Archie Pennie was a student at the Royal Technical College, Glasgow, 1934-1938, gaining an associateship in 1938. From 1938 to 1940, he was an assistant in the chemistry department.
The Audio Visual Unit became the Centre for Educational Practice in 1976, then Audio Visual Services from 1983 until 1994 when it was renamed A V Media Services.
The Television Unit was renamed Audio Visual Media in 1969.
The department produced programmes to support preservice and in-service courses and to train staff and students in the educational use of the media.
The Registry was responsible for student administration including admissions, registration, student records, examinations, graduations and room booking. The Registry was the responsibility of the Secretary.
The Alumni Relations Office was created in 1986 to form a common boundary between the students, staff and alumni of the University of Strathclyde, the Royal College of Science and Technology, the Royal Technical College and the Scottish College of Commerce.
In 1994, it was replaced by the Alumni Affairs and Development Office.
