The Chemistry and Matallurgy Committee was established in 1903 to superintend the work of the chemistry and metallurgy departments of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
The Engineering Committee was established in 1903 to superintend the work of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College in engineering and naval architecture.
The Evening Students' Representative Council was established in 1909 to promote social life in the College and to represent the evening students in all matters affecting their interests. In the 1940s, it amalgamated with the Royal Technical College Students' Representative Council.
The Mathematics, Natural Philosophy and Natural Science Committee was established in 1904 to superintend the departments of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College most directly concerned with mathematics, natural philosophy and natural science. It also administered the Euing Lectureship in the Theory of Music; preliminary and first science examinations; and general bursaries and scholarships.
The Mining Committee was established in 1947 to manage the work of the Royal Technical College's Department of Mining. Until 1947, the Department had been managed by the Engineering Committee.
The Plumbing Classes Committee was established in 1902 to manage the classes in plumbing at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
The Printing Trades Committee was established in 1903 to manage the lithographic classes and classes in other branches of the printing trade at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
The School of Sugar Manufacture was founded in 1911 to provide instruction for those intending to engage in the cane sugar industry. After the war, teaching was extended to include the training of technologists for the beet sugar industry.
The Sheet Metal Work Class Committee was established in 1903 to manage the work of the metalwork classes at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
The Special Committee was established in 1909 to consider the relations between the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College with a view to further co-operation between the two institutions.
The Weaving Committee was formed in 1908 to manage the newly established Weaving Department of the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College (formerly the Incorporated Weaving, Dyeing and Printing College of Glasgow). To ensure continuity between the Incorporated Weaving, Dyeing and Printing College and the new Weaving Department, all the members of the College governing body were appointed to the Weaving Committee. In 1910, the Committee changed its name to the Textile Manufacture Committee.
The Watch and Clockmaking Classes Committee was established in 1908 to manage the work of the watch and clockmaking classes at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
